This is the first #AskMike question I'm answering, and it's a good one.
This question comes from Twitter from @SharynMary (my Mom!) and she asked: "Does God reveal His mysteries only to apostles and prophets? Ephesians 3:5"
The short answer is no. But that would be a very short blog entry, and not to mention, wouldn't really answer the spirit of her question. First off, in Ephesians 3:5, Apostle Paul is speaking specifically of the mystery that the Gentiles would be offered salvation ... and that they would be considered equal to their Jewish counterparts. This was a major revelation and God shared with only His prophets and apostles. So, in actuality, referring to that scripture, my answer is yes.
However, in the larger context God does not only reveal His mysteries to His prophets and apostles ... He shares with all of His children. He has no favorites. In fact, the Scripture says He rewards the diligent. Therefore be diligent in prayer time and remember that prayer is a dialogue, not a monologue. Sit there. Wait. He will answer. Maybe you'll be chosen to hear His next mystery.
